ARDIEL WINS GOLD IN WELLAND

Anna Ardiel of Normandale won gold at the Head of the Welland in the City of Welland on Saturday. Competing in the Junior Women’s Single event, Ardiel rowed over a five kilometer distance to capture first place one minute and thirty two seconds ahead of the second place finisher from St. Catharines. Ardiel overtook some scullers competing in the Senior Women’s Single event who had been released ahead of her. According to Ardiel, “I just love the long distances and it was such a beautiful course.”
