ARDIEL WINS GOLD IN LONDON

Anna Ardiel of Normandale won the Junior Women’s single event at the Head of the Thames in London Ontario on the weekend. Ardiel completed the 4500 meter course in a time of 22:40 – one minute and forty eight seconds ahead of the second place finisher. According to Silver Lake Rowing Club coach Sue Fairley, “It’s ironic. Anna trains on one of the shortest courses in Canada but loves these long distance races in the fall rowing season.” After a short break which began in the middle of August, Ardiel has resumed training and will be competing at several such races throughout the fall.
