Silver for SLRC boys and rowing alumni at The CORA Championships
The Central Ontario
Rowing Championship took place in St. Catharines this weekend where the summer
duo of Eryk Taylor (17 of SCS) and Zac Azzopardi (19, recent HT grad) once
again had a podium finish in the under 23 lightweight men's double event.
They raced one of their strongest rows this summer season and earned silver
in that event. They also raced earlier in the day in much rougher conditions
in the open pair event placing 5th as well as Zac racing very well in the
under 23 lightweight single placing 4th.
Three SLRC alumni
rowing for The Guelph Rowing Club also had podium finishes at the
championships.
Ian Edwards (HT grad, now at U of Guelph student) placed 2nd in the under 23
men's single event.
Ben Auld (SCS
student) and Tyler Wilson (SCS grad, U of Guelph student) formed half of the
Guelph lightweight men's quad that also placed 2nd in their event.
Rowing for St.
Catharines, Terry Lovegrove (SCS grad, Brock student) placed third in the
under 23 men's eight event.
The boys will be
attending an invitational regatta this coming weekend in preparation for the
