Silver Lake High Schools have 6 athletes in top ten at Canadian Indoor races

 

Silver Lake Rowing Club had a record number 11 athletes go forth and  take part in the Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships held at York University Sunday February 3rd.
 
Representing their schools out of The Silver Lake Rowing Club  were:
from Holy Trinity: Ian Edwards
from Simcoe Composite: Kelsea Parker, Terry Lovegrove, Liam Ardiel, Chaundra Manorome and Robbie Puddy
from Port Dover Composite: Marcus Snow, Scott Fairley, Hannah Anderson and Samy Fairley
from  University of Guelph: Tyler Wilson (formerly SCS)
Almost all of them had personal bests scores and /or placed in the top half of their fields.
 
 Ian Edwards (HT) got Silver Lake's top men's  placing of the day getting 3rd in a time of 6:31.2 to earn the bronze medal in the Junior A open mens event.
Robbie Puddy (SCS) placed 6th in the senior B men  and Marcus Snow (PDCS) place 7th in the junior B lightweight men event.
 
Samantha Fairley (PDCS) got Silver Lake's top female placing of the day by getting 4th in the Junior A lightweight Women's event in a time of 7:57.5 with her pair partner, Hannah Anderson ( PDCS) not far behind placing 8th in the same category. Chaundra Manorome ( SCS) placed 10th in the junior A open women.
 
There will be a couple more indoor events before these and other athletes hit the water in the spring for their new high school season.
