Silver Lake Rowing Club Alumni Win Gold At UWO Regatta
Four Silver Lake Rowing Club alumni now attending Canadian universities won gold and a fifth won silver at the University of Western Ontario Invitational Regatta on September 17th in London.
Terry Lovegrove of Simcoe won gold in the Men’s Varsity Double event representing Brock University while Chaundra Monorome also of Simcoe won gold in the Women’s Varsity Four. Zac Azzopardi won gold in the Lightweight Men’s Varsity Eight rowing for McMaster University while Caleb McCleary of Burford won gold in the Lightweight Men’s Varsity Double rowing for the University of Western Ontario. Tyler Wilson of Simcoe won silver in the Lightweight Varsity Four representing the University of Guelph.
According to Jim Dover President, Silver Lake Rowing Club “From the beginning, one of our club’s measures of success has been to have as many of our competitive athletes as possible continue rowing past high school. Not only are they continuing row, they are continuing to compete and doing very well at the university level. Our Head Coach Sue Fairley deserves a lot of credit for these results.”
