ADULTS ROW FOR HEART!

Adults will be rowing their hearts out at the Second Annual Row for Heart Regatta on Silver Lake in Port Dover Saturday July 15th.

Over 100 adults have been learning to row once a week over the past eight weeks with the assistance of Silver Lake Rowing Club volunteers. The Learn to Row program is a fundraiser held in partnership with the Heart and Stroke Foundation. According to Holly MacDonald from the Heart and Stroke Foundation “This is an excellent way to promote fitness while raising funds for a worthwhile cause.”

Rowers will present their donations at the regatta and then hit the water for some “friendly” competition to demonstrate their rowing skills. Last year, over $6,000 was raised for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Races will begin at 9 am and run every 20 minutes until approximately noon.

The Silver Lake Rowing Club was established in 1999 to promote the sport of rowing across Norfolk and Haldimand counties.
